KPK spokesman Johan Budi said here Tuesday, the commission had recently completed a comprehensive review of the Bank Century case which it was now investigating.
The KPK leadership would meet the Timwas at the parliament building on Wednesday (Feb 15) to verify the results of its comprehensive review with data obtained from a forensic audit the State Audit Agency (BPK) had conducted on the Bank Century bailout some time ago.
Johan said he did not know what the results of the KPK`s comprehensive review were nor what would be discussed with the House`s Timwas on Wednesday.
"I don`t know what is going to be discussed. Let us just wait until Wednesday for more details," he said.
The BPK`s forensic audit data needed to be further verified, Johan said, adding the KPK was interested only in the possibility of state officials being involved in corruption.
"The commission`s task is only to net state officials, and therefore, verification is a must," he said.
Asked what constraints were causing KPK to take a long time to settle the Bank Century case , Johan only said they were not "difficulties but a challenge."
To follow up the results of the forensic audit, the KPK would seek the help of financial experts, Johan said.
A meeting between Timwas and BPK on the Bank Century case not long ago ended with the conclusion that corrupt acts in rescuing the ailing bank had caused a loss of Rp 6.7 trillion to the state.(*)
