Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Jakarta police have detained seven people arrested by the military police for allegedly being involved in a recent fight at RSPAD Gatot Subroto army hospital`s funeral home.

"They were handed over to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police yesterday," the head of public relations division of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Command, Senior Commissioner Rikwanto, said here on Monday.

He added that investigators would follow up the investigation into the persons.

The seven are among 19 suspects detained by the Central Jakarta Metropolitan Police in connection with the incident that left three people dead and several others wounded.

Rikwanto said the police could not as yet confirm the exact number of people involved in the attack at RSPAD, as some witnesses said 15 were involved, while others said 30 and still others claimed 50.

Police believe the number of suspects in the case will still increase.

So far, five people have been named as suspects while another, to be named soon, is known by his initials as RP.

The five people that have been named as suspects are: Edward Tupesi alias Edo, Gretes alias Heri, Toni alias Ongen, Ren Venturi and Abraham Tuhehai.

The police are still seeking others, including a woman, the sister of Edo known by her initials as RT, who was allegedly also involved in the case.

Six people hailing from Ambon, Maluku came to the hospital`s funeral home to pay their respects on Wednesday night, Feb 22, when tens of people arrived in taxi cabs and assaulted them at around 1.30 am on Thursday, Feb 23, according to officials.

Three of the mourners died in the attack while three others were injured.
