The head of exports at the province`s trade, industry and cooperatives service, Abdul Muis, said here on Tuesday that exports during the period were carried out by plantations company PT Hardaya Inti Plantation (HIP) in Buol district. He added that the exports were carried out directly from Buol port.
In 2010 Central Sulawesi collected US$4.772 million from CPO exports in 2011 up from US$1.380 million in 2010.
Muin predicted foreign exchange income from CPO exports could reach above 10 million US dollar this year as the income had already reached 4.833 million in February.
"We hope the company will actively continue its CPO exports," he said.
Central Sulawesi has so far exported 18 commodities to 22 destination countries.
Cocoa and nickel have so far been the biggest export earners for the province.
In 2011, cocoa exports contributed US$150.886 million, while nickel exports brought in US$52.070 million.
