"Only one family member of suspect AG from Jimbaran in Bali has come forward and had his DNA sample taken," head of the National Police Public Relations Division Inspector General Saud Usman Nasution said here on Thursday.
Saud did not know who the family member was that had his DNA sample collected by doctors at the Kramat Jati police hospital in East Jakarta.
The bodies of five terrorist suspects shot to death in Bali on March 18 were taken to the Kramat Jati hospital for an autopsy on March 20.
The police have so far been able to gather complete data of four of the suspects based on their identity cards, but they could not collect any data about the fifth suspect as he had no ID.
The police have still not been able to determine which group these suspects belonged to.
"We do not know yet which group these people came from but one of the suspects, HN, has been on the police`s wanted list in connection with his alleged involvement in the robbery of CIMB Niaga Bank in Medan, North Sumatra," he noted.
Two of the suspects, HN (32) from Bandung in West Java and AG (30) from Jimbaran in Bali, were shot and died in the Gunung Sapotan area.
Three others, UH alias K (31) from Jepara in Central Java, D (27) from Bandung, and M alias AH (30) from Makassar in South Sulawesi, were shot and died in the Danau Poso neighborhood.
Saud said the suspects planned to conduct `fa`i` to collect funds for their mission by robbing a jewelry shop, a money changer and a cafe.(*)
