Surabaya, E Java (ANTARA News) - East Java police personnel have been alerted ahead of the fuel price hike since Friday, March 23 for any uncertain circumstances that might rise from the rally rejecting government`s planned fuel price hike on April 1, 2012.

"We don`t know how long this situation will stand, we are ordered to standby with one third of our power force, and now it has been increase to two third," said the East Java police`s spokesperson, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Suhartoyo here on Monday.

Three days before the planned fuel price hike, the police force will be strengthened to be in full force until the circumstances can be considered safe.

"About the police officers placement at gas stations will be done according to the situation," he said.

However, the East Java Police Chief Inspector General of Police Hadiatmoko had previously prohibited hoarding fuels in various forms, including the purchase of fuel in jerry cans and it must be seized.

"The East Java Police has also been coordinating with the local Regional Leaders Consultative Forum to prohibit the purchase of fuel using jerry cans, for example fishermen should also bring a certificate from the local neighborhood leader before buying fuel in jerry cans," he added.

Besides gasoline purchase for busses is also limited to 80-100 liters, in order to benefit of society at large," he said.

Meanwhile, East Java`s Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle, a national political party, has been mobilizing mass action to reject the fuel price increase on March 27, which will be done simultaneously in at least 29 districts or cities in East Java with 72.250 participants.

East Java`s Regional Representatives Council of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle Vice Chairman Bambang DH, said demonstration i s the official delivery of the party`s opinion which is protected by the constitution and legislation for the purpose of providing political pressure on the government to cancel the planned fuel price hike on April 1, 2012.

"My conscience vote, I was with people who openly reject the fuel price hike, let alone a poll Indonesian Survey Circle (LSI) recorded 86 percent of Indonesia refused to rising fuel prices," said Bambang DH who is also deputy mayor of Surabaya.
