Palu, Central Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - Police have arrested two teenagers on charges of setting a house on fire during a brawl between two groups on April 4 in the Central Sulawesi provincial capital of Palu.

"They are charged with involvement in the clash on Wednesday morning. We are still interrogating them. We hope they will tell about the others involved in the clash," chief of the Palu police resort, Adj Snr Comr Ahmad Ramadhan, said on April 6.

The two suspects, identified as AK, 17, and HA, 14, were arrested following a raid on Friday evening and were being held in police custody for further questioning, he noted.

Based upon preliminary results of the investigation, police have identified eight people suspected of being involved in the arson on April 4, which left five houses burned to the ground, he said.

Unless the suspects surrender themselves within a week, police would contact their parents, he added.

"If they do not surrender after we have written to their parents twice, we will put them on the police`s wanted list," he said.

He said the police raided six houses on Friday evening in an effort to find suspects connected to the arson.

He also expressed regret over the two teenagers` involvement in the arson incident at Nunu village in Palu.

Some 460 personnel from the Mobile Brigade police, anti-riot police unit, the Donggala district military command and Raksatama 711 battalion are being deployed to the scene of the crime.
