Jambi (ANTARA News) - The Jambi Police`s patrol team has confiscated 10,000 liters of subsidized diesel oil on Lingkar Timur street, Pematang Sulur village, Telanaipura subdistrict, Jambi province on Saturday.

"After receiving a tip-off from local residents, the Police managed to seize 10,000 liters of diesel oil," Head of the Jambi Police`s detective unit Commissioner Agung W Nugroho said here on Sunday.

Police also arrested a man identified by his initial Ms, who was suspected of being the owner of the subsidized diesel oil, which was trying to be smuggled out.

He was charged with violation against the oil and gas Law, which carries a maximum punishment of five years in prison.

Agung said local residents were suspicious when they saw many jerry cans in Ms` place.

"Police are still investigating this case," he said.
