Anang Budi Utomo, chairman of the special committee of the draft regional regulation said here on Wednesday that violators of the regional regulation may be fined a maximum of Rp 50 million.
Anang said, details of the `no smoking area` will be set forth in the mayor`s decree.
According to him, the regulation will among others stipulate that in areas within a radius of 50 meters from teaching and learning locations and health services, there should not be any advertisement as well as production, sales, and promotion of cigarettes.
In addition, there should not be cigarette advertisement in the radius of 20 meters of the `no smoking areas` such as work places, places of worship, a playground or children gathering place, public transportation and sports facilities, the spokesman added.(*)
