Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian government has set duty on cocoa bean exports for May 2012 shipment at 5 percent, the same as the previous month.

The government used a cocoa bean reference price of US$2,221.52 per ton in setting the duty on cocoa bean exports, Director General of Foreign Trade at the Trade Ministry Deddy Saleh said here Friday.

The government also set the export benchmark price of cocoa beans for May 2012 shipment at US$1,941 per ton.

Indonesia is now listed as the world`s third largest cocoa producer after Ivory Coast and Ghana.

The Indonesian Cocoa Producers Association (Askindo) has predicted the country`s cocoa bean output in 2012 to reach an estimated 500,000 tons, up 50,000 tons from last year.
