Entitled "ASEAN: One Community, One Destiny," the contest aims to raise awareness about ASEAN among its youths and encourage their participation in the celebration, the ASEAN Secretariat said in a statement here Monday.
The contest is open to young nationals from all ten ASEAN Member States in two age categories; between the ages of 6-12 and 13-18.
The Contest will be held in two stages; first at the national level, and then regional.
One best drawing from each age category per country will be entered into the region-wide contest. The region-wide contest will be conducted through the ASEAN Secretariat Facebook page. The general public will be able to select most favourite drawings by clicking the "like" button on Facebook in both age categories. Drawings that receive the most "likes" in each category will be announced as winners at the end of the contest.
Drawings must be original and authentic creations by participants, submitted in A3-size paper (420x297mm), and given a title. The spirit of the art should follow the contest theme and represent the values of unity and solidarity.
The region-wide winner of each category will receive a certificate signed by the Secretary-General of ASEAN, a cash prize of USD 500, and ASEAN books and souvenirs. National-level winners will each receive appreciation certificates for their participations and prizes of USD 100.
