Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - A Dutch citizen, Bedrettin Kaya, who allegedly committed a torture against a police brigadier here, will immediately be handed to the public prosecutor`s office for further legal process, a police spokesman said.

Chief of Banjarmasin police precinct`s criminal section, Commissioner Roy Satya Putra SH Sik, said here on Sunday that the police investigator had completed the dossier of Kaya`s investigation.

The first phase of the dossier is expected to be sent to the public prosecutor`s office on Monday (May 21). If the dossier is already complete (P21), the suspect and his evidence will be transferred to the public`s prosecutor office for further legal process, Roy said.

According to Roy, Bedrettin Kaya, who has been named a suspect and is now being detained, refused to sign the dossier as he denied to have committed a torture against police Brigadier EF.

"It is his right not to sign the dossier and there is no problem, but we have issued a written statement about Bedrettin Kaya`s objection to sign the dossier," the police said.

The Dutch citizen only confessed to having punched Brigadier EF on Friday (May 4) at about 2.30 p.m. local time in the Banjarmasin police sector office for unreported reason.

Brigadier EF suffered bruises on his face and two of his front teeth broken after being punched by Bedrettin Kaya. (*)
