Ambassador Marciel had the opportunity to visit Pesantren Al Anshor.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Ambassador Marciel made his first visit to Ambon, capital of Maluku province from June 19-20, the US Embassy here said in its official website on Friday.
While there, he met with various social and youth group leaders. He also enjoyed courtesy calls with the Governor and the Kapolda or the regional police chief.
Ambassador Marciel had the opportunity to visit Pesantren Al Anshor where he had a dialogue with students and gave a speech on tolerance at Pattimura University.
In addition, he had discussions with exchange alumni, journalists, and religious leaders about the growing U.S.-Indonesia Comprehensive Partnership.
The trip provided an opportunity for the Ambassador to engage with and experience an important region of Indonesia.
