Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Oil and gas exploration stock PT Elnusa (ELSA) was the most active on Monday`s transaction at the Indonesian Stock Exchange.

There were 28 million shares worth Rp5.021 billion of PT Elnusa changing hand in 5,729 transactions.

Other active stocks included investment holding Bhakti Investama (BHIT), steel maker Jaya Pari Steel (JPRS), and energy stock Energi Mega Persada (ENRG).

Active trading was also recorded for big capitalization stocks, the country`s largest coal producer Bumi Resources (BUMI), automotive giant PT Astra International (ASII), telecommunication giant PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLKM), plantation companies BW Plantation (BWPT) and Bakrie Sumatera Plantations (UNSP).

Decliners included ELSA down Rp3 to Rp170, JPRS down Rp20 to Rp360, ENRG down Rp8 to Rp112, BUMI down Rp70 to Rp1,060, ASII down Rp100 to Rp7,100, and TLKM down Rp250 to Rp8,950.

The BEI index closed 39.03 points or 0.94 percent lower to 4,102.53 with frequency of transaction at 89,850 , 2.063 billion shares changing hands valued at Rp2.439 trillion.

There were 63 stocks gaining as decliners of 182 with 86 stock stagnant.
