"There are people who perhaps wanted to take the suspect farther away from Yogyakarta."Jakarta (ANTARA News) - South Jakarta police have arrested a suspect in the death of a senior high school student during a recent inter-school brawl between students in Blok M area.
"The student from state senior high school SMAN 6 - identified as FR - was caught in Condong Catur, Yogyakarta, Central Java, on Wednesday, along with his two friends," South Jakarta resort police chief Senior Commissioner Wahyu Hadiningrat said here on Thursday.
"There are people who perhaps wanted to take the suspect farther away from Yogyakarta," he noted.
Wahyu said the police arrested FR and his friends at a rented house.
However, he declined to name the two other people arrested with FR.
Wahyu stated that the suspect had not returned home after the fight between the students of SMAN 6 and neighbouring school SMAN 70.
"The police will further investigate the involvement of the suspect`s friends, who helped him flee," he added.
"We will determine the suspect`s age from his ID. Depending on whether he is underage or an adult, we will take the case forward," Wahyu explained.
