Palu, Central Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - Two police officers who had gone missing since a week ago in Poso, Central Sulawesi, have been found dead, believably after being killed.

The bodies of First Brigade Andi Sapa and Brigadier Sudirman were found buried in one grave in the village of Tamanjeka, Poso, on Tuesday afternoon.

Central Sulawesi police chief Brigadier General Dewa Parsana said the conditions of the bodies were very bad and had marks of wounds.

The location where the bodies were found is around six kilometers from a road leading to Tamanjeka making evacuation rather long.

The two officers went missing on October 8, 2012 while investigating an alleged terrorism crime in Poso.

The Central Sulawesi police chief said the bodies of the two officers had now been evacuated to the Poso general hospital.

He said he could not as yet tell who might have been involved in the case as the police still focused on taking after the bodies.

However he suspected that they were part of the group who did not like the police so far.

"The perpetrators are those from the group," he said without telling the name of the group.

It is however believed that the group the police chief meant is a terrorist network which still exists in Poso.

The police would conduct an autopsy on the two bodies before they were handed to their families for burial. (S027/YH/BSR/A014)
