Palu, Central Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - Police in Poso revealed the names of 24 persons so far wanted for their alleged involvement in violent cases in the past year in the Central Sulawesi district.

The chief of Poso police resort, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Eko Santoso said here on Sunday the names have already been sent to all sector police stations in Poso as well as resort police stations across Central Sulawesi.

The names have also been distributed to community members with hopes they would inform about the whereabouts of the persons, he said.

The police earlier said 30 people have been put in the police`s wanted list in connection with violent incidents in the district so far.

Eko said the police still needed to investigate further the involvement of six of them so that their names had not yet been made known.

Those who are wanted are Mamat, Santoso alias Abu Warda, Alian San alias Pak De alias Komandan, Hendro, Taufik Buraga alias Upik Lawanga, Herman alias David, Fadlun alias Lun, Faris, Anto, Sugianto alias Su alias Abiny Irul, Can alias Fajar alias Muhammad Fuad, Ambo Intan alias Ambo alias Pambo, Ali Sannang alias Papa Kairul, Imron, Azis alias Papa Sifa, Sugir alias Yanto alias Mas Yanto, Busro alias Dan alias Atif, Maskoro alias Daeng Koro alias Abduu Salam alias Sabar, Joko alias Kadir, Samil alias Nunung, Bogar, Hadit, Salahudin alias Jon and Ambo.

Starting on Friday the National Police conducted Maleo Aman (Secure Maleo) I operations and they would last until the end of this month, involving 1,185 police officers and 170 army personnel.

Central Sulawesi regional police command chief Brigadier General Dewa Parsana said the Maleo Aman I operations were focused on law enforcement and social services.

Maleo Aman I operations would be followed by Maleo Aman II involving local government officials which is focused on development of public facilities for the welfare of the people, he said.

The four main locations for the operations are Kalora, Tambarana, Tamanjeka and Weralulu villages in the sub-districts of Poso Pesisir and Poso Pesisir Utara.

Parsana said the operations were not only aimed at arresting the perpetrators of terrorism so far but also for legal counseling, dialogs, charity services and other activities to prevent radical ideologies which are against legal, religious, traditional norms from penetrating the community.
