"As a follow up to the ministerial regulation, we need to control the use of subsidized gasoline for private cars as of July 2013," BPH Migas Chief Andy N Sommeng said.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body (BPH Migas) plans to issue a regulation limiting the use of subsidized gasoline for private cars as of July 2013.
The move is a follow up to the energy and mineral resources minister`s regulation No. 12 of 2012 on controlling the use of fuel oils, BPH Migas Chief Andy N Sommeng said at a meeting with the House of Representatives` Commission VII here on Wednesday.
"As a follow up to the ministerial regulation, we need to control the use of subsidized gasoline for private cars as of July 2013," he said.
The board will also issue a regulation banning the use of subsidized gasoline for official cars of the central government, regional governments, state-owned companies and regional government-owned companies across the country as of January 2013, he said.
BPH Migas has predicted subsidized fuel consumption will reach 45.373 million kiloliters until the end of this year, outstripping the quota of 44.04 million set in the revised 2012 state budget.
In the first nine months of this year, subsidized fuel consumption reached 32.906 million kiloliters, accounting for 75 percent of the quota.
Fuel consumption is projected to reach 3.882 million kiloliters in October, 3.931 million kiloliters in November and 4.221 million kiloliters in December this year.
The subsidized fuel quota of 44.04 million kiloliters in the revised 2012 state budget is 4.04 million kiloliters higher than projected earlier at 40 million kiloliters.(*)
