"The goods from containers will be loaded onto trains at dry ports."
Bekasi, West Java (ANTARA News) - Coordinating Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa has expressed optimism that the infrastructure project to connect the industrial centre in Bekasi with Jakarta will boost national economic growth.

"The government is focusing on the business connection infrastructure as the main priority for 2012 with a budgetary allocation of Rp220 trillion," he said here on Friday.

He mentioned that the connection will be prominently established through land, water and air transportation, such as ports and railway lines.

Rajasa noted that by facilitating industrial centres through better connections, people would find it easier to conduct business, particularly in areas with potential for public economic development, such as the dry port development project in Cikarang industrial area in Bekasi.

"The goods from containers will be loaded onto trains at dry ports and will then be directly transported to the Tanjung Priok port," he said.

He further stated that the government will expand the Tanjung Priok port in November 2012 to develop business activities in the area.

He added that the government is also working on the double track project in Bekasi, expected to be completed in 2014.

"I am optimistic that the connection lines will increase track capacity which will lead to an increase in transport capacity," he added.
