"Continued uncertainties on bail out plan for Greece and Spain weakened rupiah," Monex Investindo Futures`s researcher Ariston Tjendra said.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian currency rupiah lost 15 points against the US dollar in inter bank trading here on Tuesday morning.

Rupiah traded at 9,615 per dollar weakening from the level of 9,600 on protracted debt crisis besetting euro zone countries, analysts said.

"Continued uncertainties on bail out plan for Greece and Spain weakened rupiah," Monex Investindo Futures`s researcher Ariston Tjendra said here on Tuesday.

The risk of bankruptcy of Greece is looming after the European Central Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the European Union rejected further concession about the amendment to labor law.

Meanwhile, funds held by Greece is enough only until mid November, Ariston said.

He said, even if the European bond auction and bond repayment by Spain would go smoothly this week , stability will remain at risk before a panacea is found for the European economic ills.

Rully Nova, a money market observer from Bank Himpunan Saudara, said minimum sentiment at financial market caused the fluctuation in foreign exchange trading with declining tendency.

However, with a foreign exchange reserve of US$110.172 billion Bank Indonesia would have enough strength to prevent rupiah from going down deeper against the dollar. (*)
