Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) began trade this morning with composite share price index rising slightly on buying action.

The BEI index rose 0.09 percent to 4,339.22 points with the index of 45 most liquid stocks gaining 0.13 percent to 748.67 points.

"Some investors took the risk of buying although the share prices are not very high . Technically the index would move mixed around 4,310-4,366 points today," Sinarmas Sekuritas` analyst James Wahjudi said.

The release of US economic data especially unemployment claim, consumer confidence and manufacture could push up the share prices, James said.

Panin Sekuritas` analyst Purwoko Sartono said low inflation rate of 0.16 percent in October and trade surplus after deficit in previous months apparently were not enough to lift the share prices.

Purwoko predicted that the BEI index would move around 4,301-4,350 points today.

Regional markets Hang Seng recorded a 1.27 percent increase in index to 22,098.20, with Nikkei-225 up 1.27 percent to 9,060.27 points and Straits Times gaining 0.62 percent to 3,045.25 points.(*)
