Two judges did not participate in the test because one was carrying out his duty in another region and the other was attending his son's marriage.Pontianak, W Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - The National Narcotics Agency of the West Kalimantan Province has administered urine test to the judges and the staff of the local high court on Monday morning.
"It is to anticipate the circulation of narcotics, which is currently being distributed anywhere and to anyone, including judges," said the Head of the West Kalimantan Province for the National Narcotics Agency, Sugeng Heryanto, after administering the urine test.
The urine test was first administered to the head and the vice head of the West Kalimantan High Court.
A total of 55 judges and high court staff took part in the urine test.
"A total of 20 judges took part in the urine test. Two judges did not participate in the test because one was carrying out his duty in another region and the other was attending his son's marriage," he said.
The results of the urine test indicate that both the judges and the staff do not consume narcotics.
"Everybody at the high court is clear," Sugeng said.
However, he said that efforts to prevent the consumption of drugs are not just limited to the urine test.
"We will conduct other efforts because West Kalimantan has become an area prone to narcotics circulation," he said.
Sugeng gave an example of 28 kilograms shabu-shabu which entered West Kalimantan through PPLB Entikong from Serawak some time ago.
In addition, the delivery of shabu-shabu from Jakarta indicated that West Kalimantan was not only a transit area, but a destination for drugs too.(*)
