The chief judge of the corruption court here, Gusrizal, in a session here on Monday sentenced Yani to 1.5 years in jail and fined him Rp50 million.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Yani Anshori, the general manager of PT Hardaya Inti Plantations belonging to noted business woman Siti Hartati Murdaya was found guilty of paying bribes to head of Buol district in Central Sulawesi.

The chief judge of the corruption court here, Gusrizal, in a session here on Monday sentenced Yani to 1.5 years in jail and fined him Rp50 million.

Yani has been proven jointly committing corruption, the judge said adding he had been proven guilty of giving money to the head of Buol district, Amran Batalipu, to obtain a recommendation for the issuance of a land use right for the development of oil palm plantation by PT Cipta Cakra Murdaya in the district.

The judges said the money totaling Rp3 billion was paid in two stages in exchange for the issuance of a land use right (HGU) or a plantation licence (IUP) on 4.500 hectares and 75,000 hectares of land respectively on behalf of PT Cipta Cakra Murdaya and PT Hardaya Inti Plantations.

The sentence was lower that the prosecutor`s demand for 2.5 years in jail and a fine of Rp50 million.

Amran Batalipu has also been taken to court in connection with the case.

PT Hardaya Inti Plantations` operations director Gondo Sudjono meanwhile was sentenced to one year in jail and fined Rp50 million for involvement in the case.

Gondo was proven giving or pledging money totaling Rp3 billion to district head Amran Batalipu.

According to judges Gondo extended Rp2 billion to Amran on June 26, 2012 along with Yani Anshori, Dede Kurniawan and Soekirno at Amran`s villa.(*)
