The majority shareholder of Rekind , state fertilizer company PT Pupuk Indonesia, is seeking an agreement from other shareholders, deputy minister of state enterprises Pandu Djayanto told ANTARA news agency here on Tuesday night.
Pandu said the government as s minority shareholder agrees with the plan to sell the asset to Pertamina.
Rekind is 90.06 percent owned by Pupuk Indonesia, 4.97 percent by PT Pupuk Kaltim and 4.97% by the government.
Another deputy of minister of state enterprises Dwijayanti Tjahjaningsih said Pertamina had informed its acquisition plan to the government.
Earlier Minister for State Enterprise Dahlan Iskan suggested Pertamina acquire Rekind which has skills in construction and engineering including in the construction of oil refineries and other energy infrastructure.
"We want Pertamina to acquire Rekind that we have a strong petrochemical engineering, procurement construction (EPC) industry," Dahlan has said.(*)
