Islamabad (ANTARA News/IRNA-OANA) - Senior Al Qaeda leader and deputy of Ayman al-Zawahiri, died in a US drone attack in Pakistan on Friday, local media reported.

Sheikh Khalid Bin Abdul Rehman Al-Hussainan was having breakfast when a missile fired from a drone targeted him in a Pakistani tribal region, media reports said.

The senior militant leader's death was announced on militant websites and was later confirmed by US officials.

Al-Hussainan had been seen in numerous al-Qaeda videos offering religious training to the group's operatives. The videos were circulated by al Qaeda's media wing Al Shabab.

Referring to the significance of Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project the Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman said that both countries should go ahead with the project. He further said that Iran and Pakistan should also enhance their cooperation in barter trade system.

Shahrukh Hassan, Managing Director of `Jang' newspaper said that Iran and Pakistan enjoy strong bilateral relations and both the countries are tied in the eternal bond of friendship.

He said that Iranian people are very close to the hearts of Pakistani people. "The whole Islamic world feels proud with the achievements of Iran," he said. During the meeting, he suggested exchange of media delegations between the two states.

After the meeting, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast visited different sanctions of the headquarters of Jang media group.
