"We are committed to helping communities across the country."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina, in commemoration of its 55th anniversary, has presented three ambulances as aids to the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas).

The ambulances were presented by President Director of PT Pertamina Karen Agustiawan at Pertamina Head Office in Jakarta on Monday.

"We hope these ambulances will help Basarnas carry out its responsibilities more effectively," he said.

Since 2009, Pertamina has been running an Ambulance Aid program, which is aimed at assisting communities in remote areas.

"We are committed to helping communities across the country. As for Basarnas, we are sure the ambulances will support their performance," Agustiawan stated.

Pertamina also organised a few other events to commemorate its 55th anniversary, such as the National Science Olympiad in November, Pertamina Days (from December 7-9), and the launch of Pertamina Baby Daycare on Monday.

Pertamina was founded in December 10, 1957.

"The Pertamina Friend of Earth tagline represents our commitment to save our earth. We are calling on all Indonesians to support Pertamina in developing environmentally friendly and renewable energy," Agustiawan said.
