"There is hope our economy will still develop due to availability of resources and buying power of the public," he said after speaking at an economic forum titled "Meeting Indonesia`s Economy 2013" here on Wednesday.
Kalla, who is also a noted businessman, however warned of possible risks that could emerge next year unless the domestic problems are not immediately settled.
He referred to among others budget problems. "If the deficit is allowed to become big and the subsidy is too big while imports are also huge there will be a double deficit ," he said.
He also said political and security situation in the country also had to be controlled.
"Unstable political and security conditions could cause problems," he said.
The government has so far predicted the country`s economy would grow between 6.3 and 6.5 percent next year.
It has also predicted that the current global crisis would still continue until next year to reduce the country`s exports to a number of countries and affect its balance of trade and the domestic economy.
