He expressed his intention while delivering the Letter of Introduction to the Directorate General of FAO, Graziano da Silva, in Rome, Italy, according to a press release from the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Rome, received here on Thursday.
Seeking improved cooperation with FAO, Parengkuan requested Graziano to provide Indonesian professionals with more opportunities to work with the organisation.
On the occasion, Graziano expressed appreciation for the existing cooperation between Indonesia and FAO in many programs such as "reformation, transformation and decentralization of FAO, as well as south-to-south cooperation".
The Indonesian Ambassador also delivered a Letter of Introduction to the President of International Fund for Agricultureal Development (IFAD), Kanayo Nwanze, at the headquarters of IFAD in Rome.
Parengkuan was inaugurated Indonesian Ambassador to Italy by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at the Presidential palace in Jakarta on September 3.
Parengkuan, who was a senior journalist of Kompas daily, also serves as Indonesian Ambassador to Malta, Cyprus and the United Nations office in Rome.
Earlier, he had presented his credentials to Italian President Giorgio Napolitano.
