Jakarta (ANTARA News) - An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale jolted Seluma (southwest), Bengkulu, at 3.46pm on Tuesday.

According to the Meteorology Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the epicentre of the earthquake was 431km southwest of Seluma, Bengkulu, 477km southwest of Bengkulu city, Bengkulu, and 654km southwest of Jakarta (Southern Latitude - 7.86 degrees and Western Longitude - 101.16 degrees).

Experts believe that the earthquake will not trigger a tsunami.
