Jakarta, Dec 27 (ANTARA) - The government has signed an umbrella contract with 27 internet service providers (ISPs) so that government agencies can procure internet services without a need for a tender, said a government official.

"ISPs can now send their offers to government agencies across the country. Government agencies will be able to reduce their cost of internet services by 20 percent if a government agency chooses one of the 27 ISPs," said Agus Rahardjo, head of the Government Goods and Services Procurement Agency (LKPP), on Thursday.

He said internet services projects will be displayed on the LKPP website so that government agencies can get in touch with ISPs directly.

Agus said he will invite the ISPs so that they can submit their offers to districts/municipalities across the country.

"About 30 percent of the state budget, which is about Rp500 trillion, is set aside every year for procurement. If tenders are submitted electronically, we can save Rp55 trillion every year," he added.

Supra Primatama Nusantara, PT. Link Net, PT. Jetcoms Netindo, PT. Dwi Tunggal Putra, PT. Arsen Kusuma Indonesia, PT. Indosat and PT. Jasnita Telekomindo.
