"Not all technology is bad for women."Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Women`s Empowerment and Child Protection Minister Linda Amalia Sari Gumelar has expressed hope that more women will pursue research in the field of technology for the future development of the sector.
"We will continue to encourage more women to immerse themselves in research studies for the technology development of the country," she said here on Friday.
Linda stated that she had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Agency for Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) on research in technological development.
"The objective of the MoU is to enable more women and children to take advantage of the advancements in applied technology," she said, adding that applied technology would not prevent women from playing their traditional roles in the society.
"Not all technology is bad for women. Many have a positive impact on their welfare for example, in the field of herbal medicine manufacturing," Linda noted.
