Puruk Cahu (ANTARA News) - Rescue workers are still searching for 7 missing passengers of a speedboat capsized on Saturday in the Barito river in the regency of Murung Raya, Central Kalimantan.

"Currently in addition to police, the military and local people take part in the search," local police officer Adj. Comr. Yudhapatie told reporters here on Sunday.

Two of the missing passengers are police officers including Adj. Comr Aris Tantowi and the rest are security guards of gold and coal mining companies in the region.

So far search failed to locate any of the missing people or their bodies, Yudhapatie said.

The boat capsized with 13 people on board including four police officers and eight security guards of gold mining company PT Indo Muro Kencana (IMK) and coal producer PT Daya Bumi Koalindo (DBK).

They were on their way back to Puruk Cahu from a training session in the village of Kuhung , the sub-district of Barito Tuhup Raya.

The security guards were to attend a roll call for all security guards in the area to be held on Jan. 9 in Muara Teweh , the capital of the regency of Barito Utara.
