"We are still chasing them."
Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA News) - Chief Police of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Police Brigadier General Mochamad Iriawan has stated that two terrorists, who are on the wanted list in connection with the Poso incident in Central Sulawesi, are believed still to be in Dompu regency, Sumbawa island, NTB.

"Two terrorists are still there. One of them was identified while he was eating at a shop, but he managed to escape to the forest. We are still chasing them," he said here on Wednesday.

"The Special Detachment (Densus) 88 anti-terror squad discovered raw materials for bombs at a terrorist hideout in Kendai Woja district, Dompu, during an ambush operation in Poso," Iriawan noted.

The squad also found 261 pipe bombs, he added.

"The police ambushed terrorists in two places Mangge Nae, Dompu (which borders with Bima), on January 4 and in Kendai Woja on the morning of January 5," Iriawan stated.

During the encounter, two terrorists Roy (from Makassar) and Bahtiar (Dompu) were shot dead. The police found many firearms and bullets during the operation.

Meanwhile, in Kendai, the police shot down three terrorists, while one managed to escape. The three terrorists who were killed could not be identified at first.

However, after being taken to Jakarta, they were identified as Rizal (also known as Andi Kamayama and Brekele), Pais and Riswanto.

All the five terrorists killed were among the seven fugitive terrorists who had fled and hid in Dompu after the Poso incident.

"The two who are still in Dompu are hamstrung. We hope they surrender themselves so we don't need to shoot them down," Iriawan said.

"We have not set a deadline yet, but we will soon chase them and catch them," he added.
