Jambi (ANTARA News) - Falling prices have forced 38 of 41 coal mining companies in the regency of Batanghari in Jambi to temporarily stop production.

"There are only three companies remaining active in operation, head of the district energy and mineral resource office Pahmi said in Muarabulian on Wednesday.

All of the companies including those stopping production continue to pay tax and royalty, Fahmi said, adding none of them has arrears in tax.

The three companies remaining in operation are located in the sub-districts of Pemayung, Batin XXIV and Mersam.
