Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled to visit Egypt in early February, as part of a state visit to several African countries, starting January 30 through February 7, according to Presidential Staff Teuku Faizasyah.

"President Yudhoyono will visit Cairo, Egypt, to attend the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting in the city. Among the issues to be discussed during the meeting are steps to improve economic cooperation among members, cooperation in social and cultural affairs and cooperation in the development of technology," he said here on Monday.

Faizasyah stated that the meeting would also discuss efforts to support Palestine and resolve conflicts in various parts of the Middle East.

Before leaving for Egypt, Faizasyah said the President would first visit Monrovia (Liberia) to attend a meeting of the High Level Panel of Eminent Persons on Post-2015 Development Agenda. The meeting will discuss various issues, with focus on the eradication of poverty.

During his visit to Liberia, President Yudhoyono is scheduled to meet with Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. Both leaders will discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in many areas, such as trade, investment and technology.

Then, the President will leave for Nigeria to meet with his Nigerian counterpart, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. The two leaders are expected to discuss ways to increase cooperation in various fields such as trade and investment, politics, security and culture.

Later, in Saudi Arabia, President Yudhoyono and First Lady Ani Yudhoyono will attend a business meeting between entrepreneurs from Indonesia and Saudi Arabia. (P008)
