"He is held at the KPK detention center in the Military Police station in Guntur for the next 20 days," KPK spokesman Johan Budi said.
Luthfi emerged from the KPK building at around 5.40pm after he was picked up by KPK prosecution officers from the PKS Headquarters on Jalan TB Simatupang, South Jakarta, at 11.30pm on Wednesday.
"I am just facing a legal case and I would certainly need time to follow the process to prove whether or not I am guilty and this problem will be part of PKS` struggle," he said.
He sported a KPK detainee costume and he was not handcuffed when giving the short press conference at the KPK entrance.
On the occasion he also said that he had decided to resign from his post as president of the party.
With his arrest it means KPK has arrested all suspects uncovered so far in the case. The other suspects are businessman Ahmad Fathana who is now held at the KPK detention house, Juard Effendi, the director of PT Indoguna Utama held at Salemba and Arya Abdi Effendi at Cipinang detention centers.
Juard and Arya were arrested by KPK on Tuesday at the house of Arya at 10.30pm in Cakung, East Jakarta, after handing over Rp1 billion to Ahmad Fathanah at PT Indoguna Utama building.
Ahmad Fathanah meanwhile was arrested at Le Meredien Hotel at 8.2 0pm on Wednesday along with a woman named Maharani.
KPK had confiscated Rp1 billion worth of cash money put in black plastic bags as part of a total of Rp40 billion to be paid for commitment to secure meat import quota for the company.
When found the money had been divided into three parts namely Rp980 million in Ahmad`s car, Rp10 million in the man`s wallet and the rest was suspected to have been given to Maharani.
KPK had searched PT Indoguna Utama office in Pondok Bambu, East Jakarta and confiscated computers and a number of documents from the company.
It had also raided the Agriculture Ministry building in Ragunan, South Jakarta and houses of Arya in Duren Sawit and Ahmad Fathanah at Margonda City Apartment. (YH/BSR/A014)
