"This project began in large part as MRTV-4 wanted to learn South Korea`s drama-making know-how."
Agan, Myanmar (ANTARA News/Yonhap) - South Korea`s educational TV channel EBS has co-produced a television drama series for children with a major Myanmar network, EBS said Friday.

Provisionally titled "The Dream," the co-production with Myanmar`s MRTV-4 will go on air in both countries in May, the company said.

"This is the first time that the television networks of the two countries have worked together to make a program," it added.

The drama is about a Myanmarese rural village boy who achieves his dream through football. Its shooting took place in the ancient Buddhist city of Bagan on March 7-14. The cast was composed of all Myanmarese actors while Koreans led the direction team.

"This project began in large part as MRTV-4 wanted to learn South Korea`s drama-making know-how," said Lee Ho, an EBS producer who participated in the joint project from an early stage.

South Korean TV dramas are in fashion in Myanmar as well as other Asian countries. MRTV-4 is one of the companies that broadcast Korean dramas the most in the Southeast Asian country and one of the most influential media companies with 37 paid channels.
