... Yenny did not expect certain position and neither did I offer it to her... "
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Democratic Party Chairman Susilo Yudhoyono has clarified media reports on Yenny Wahid, the daughter of former President Abdurrahman "Gus Dur" Wahid, who was rumored to take the position of the party's deputy chairman.

Speaking to the press at Presidential Palace complex here on Wednesday evening, Yudhoyono said the media reported as if Yenny Wahid had asked for the position of Democratic Party`s deputy chairmanship, and on the contrary he had offered the post to her.

He said the media reports were baseless.

"Not at all. Yenny did not expect certain position and neither did I offer it to her," said the Democratic Party chairman.

But Yudhoyono admitted that at his Puri Cikeas private home in Bogor, West Java, he had received Yenny Wahid and her mother Sinta Nuriyah Wahid.

According to him, they discussed religious harmony and pluralism, nostalgia with Gus Dur, and politics during the meeting at Cikeas home but none was about certain position in the Democratic Party.

"With Yenny Wahid, we did talk about present and future politics, possibility to fight together in political arena, and cooperation for beneficial interest, but she did not at all expect any certain position withing the party," he noted.

Yudhoyono said the confusing and incorrect media reports about Yenny Wahid were detrimental to the daughter of Gus Dur and himself, as well.
