All sides must respect the decisions taken by the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Chief Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto has asked all sides not to have different interpretations over the Supreme Court`s verdict on former police chief detective Commissioner General Susno Duadji.

"All sides must respect the decisions taken by the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court. There should be no other interpretations with regard to the enforcement of the law in this country," Djoko said in an official statement received here on Thursday.

On Wednesday, an execution team of the Jakarta High Prosecutor Office and the South Jakarta Prosecutor Office planed to take Susno from his residence in Jalan Pakar Raya No. 6, Ciburial Village, Bandung District, Bandung West Java.

However, the execution plan did not run smoothly because Susno resisted the execution order. His lawyer Yusril Ihza Mahendra came to his house to ask for his protection.

Susno was than taken to the West Java Police Headquarters. Until the wee hours on Thursday, the execution team from the prosecutor office continued to make effort to carry out the execution order but failed.

"The execution team finally left the West Java Police Headquarters at 0.15 Thursday morning," Attorney General`s Office Spokesman Setia Untung Arimuladi said.

He said that the prosecutor office was firmed in its plan to carry out the execution of Susno`s imprisonment because it was in line with the law.

"Of course we are working based on the law. So, we are committed to carrying out the execution," he said.

He also denied that police officers were protecting Susno Duadji. "The police did not protect him. His case was also handled by the police," he said.

Susno was convicted by the South Jakarta District Court in March 2011 of taking a Rp500 million ($57,500) bribe to settle a legal dispute over the ownership of a fish farm in 2009. He has already rejected three requests for him to report to prosecutor`s office to serve his sentence.

The court also said that Susno was proven guilty of deducting for his personal interest the pacification fund of West Java regional head election by Rp4.2 billion when he was West Java Regional Police chief in 2008.

The Jakarta High Court upheld the conviction and the three-and-a-half year sentence in November 2011. The Supreme Court added its weight to the verdict.

Susno`s other lawyer Frederich Yunianto said the appeal verdict did not specifically mention that Susno must serve his prison term.

"The appeal did not mention the execution order, and there were several other legal flaws, so the prosecutors should not interpret the verdict as they wish," he said.
