Bali, Indonesia to hold AFCSR 2013 at the Grand Hyatt-Nusa Dua on September 23-24

Manila, June 5, 2013 - (ANTARA) - The annual Asian Forum on Corporate Social Responsibility (AFCSR) celebrates its 12th year as it travels for the first time to Bali, Indonesia to hold AFCSR 2013 at the Grand Hyatt-Nusa Dua on September 23-24.

Organized by the Asian Institute of Management Ramon V. del Rosario Sr. Center for Corporate Responsibility (AIM-RVR Center) together with Intel Corporation, the AFCSR is known to be the most significant conference on corporate social responsibility in Asia. AFCSR 2013 is also supported by the Lippo Group, First Pacific Group and PT Indofood as principal hosts. The event is attended by various professionals in business, the academe, and the government.

This year's conference bears the theme, CSR and the Challenge of Inclusive Growth: The Role of Social Innovation in Creating Lasting Impact. The plenary sessions will focus on presenting the role of business in transforming society to ensure that all members of the community benefits in a sustainable manner, highlighting business initiatives that have contributed significant impact to community where it operates, and embedding responsibility and innovation into the company's operations and organization.

Introduced in Manila in 2002, AFCSR's mission is to highlight innovative programs and best practices in CSR by corporations in Asia and to promote CSR as a key strategy in addressing public needs and problems, to showcase corporate standards on CSR as strategy, and to build a network of CSR practitioners across Asia.

Capping off the two-day event is the Asian CSR Awards and the Intel-AIM Corporate Responsibility Award ceremony and gala dinner, which seeks to recognize companies in Asia for embodying the principles of corporate responsibility in their business philosophy and operations. The Asian CSR Awards will be given in four categories, namely: Environment and Value-Chain Management, Governance and Society, Labor and Employee Engagement, and Product Responsibility and Consumer Rights while the IACRA will go to an organization that has fully embedded CSR throughout the aforementioned focus areas.

About the AIM-RVR CSR Center

The AIM-Ramon V. del Rosario, Sr. Center for Corporate Social Responsibility (RVR CSR Center) was launched in July 2000 as a research and program initiative of the Asian Institute of Management (AIM).
