Langkat, North Sumatra (ANTARA News) - Langkat police of North Sumatra have up to May 2013 confiscated 205 kg of marijuana and detained 100 suspects, Langkat Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Erik Bhismo said on Friday.

"The volume of the marijuana we have confiscated in the past five months is relatively big," Erik was quoted by Narcotics Unit Head of Langkat`s Police Adjunct Commissioner Lukmin Siregar as saying.

He said that the confiscation of marijuana was made in various places in Langkat. The police also arrested 100 suspects.

According to Lukmin, in January, the police confiscated 34 kg of marijuana with 24 suspects.

The police arrested seven suspects with one kilogram of ganja in February and confiscated 11 kg in March with 27 suspects.

In April and May, the police confiscated 161 kg of marijuana and 42 suspects, he said.
