This is a chance to improve efficiency and services for businesspeople."
Medan, North Sumatra (ANTARA News) - Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) senior officials are preparing a scheme at their meeting in the North Sumatra provincial capital of Medan to allow businesspeople to travel faster and more easily within the Asia-Pacific region.

The scheme is designed in such a way that APEC participants will more easily travel to countries they want, convenor of APEC Business Mobility Group Agnieszka Holland said in a press statement released on Wednesday.

As such, business growth in the APEC region will be easily achieved and cooperation will be easily realized, Holland said.

Holland said the scheme has been discussed with relevant immigration and security officials.

The involvement of various parties will lead to major simplification of procedures beneficial to all businesspeople in the Asia Pacific region, Holland said.

"This is a chance to improve efficiency and services for businesspeople," Holland said.

Holland said the facility is done in a single application, namely APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) offering three travel schemes, namely for three years, several years and short term.

Given the scheme, APEC participants will find it more easily to build greater connectivity in the region in support of growth, Holland said.
