... I only said goodbye. I have said repeatedly that the struggle to fight against corruption is very important in order to make democracy in Indonesia a success... "Jakarta (ANTARA News) - United States Ambassador to Indonesia, Scot Marciel, said farewell to the chairman of the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as his term of office here has come to an end.
"I will leave Indonesia because I have completed my job here. I come just to say goodbye," Marciel said at the KPK building here on Tuesday.
According to Marciel, KPK chairman, Abraham Samad, KPK vice chairpersons, Bambang Widjojanto, and Zulkarnain, and KPK secretary general, Anies Said Basalamah, received his coming then.
"So, in the meeting I only said goodbye. I have said repeatedly that the struggle to fight against corruption is very important in order to make democracy in Indonesia a success," Marciel pointed out.
Marciel has planned to return to Washington DC this week after performing his duty in Indonesia since August 2010.
He was the US envoy for ASEAN affairs before being appointed the US ambassador to Indonesia.
