The 45th IChO was held at State Moscow University, Russia, and participated in by 291 students, including 40 female students, from 73 countries, and four observers.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Four Indonesian students have gained three silver and one bronze medals in the 45th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) in Moscow, Russia, July 15-24, 2013.

According to a press statement of the Embassy of Indonesia in Moscow here on Friday, those three silver medals were achieved by Ryan Bagus Fitradi (of State Senior High School SMAN 81 of Jakarta), Ivan Kurniawan (SMAN I of Purworejo, Central Java) and Putu Ivan Budi Gunawan (SMAN 4 of Denpasar, Bali), while Jason Mahadika Nathanael (Penabur Chatolic High School of Gading Serpong, Tangerang) brought home the bronze.

The 45th IChO was held at State Moscow University, Russia, and participated in by 291 students, including 40 female students, from 73 countries, and four observers.

Only the best high school students of each country that could participate in the IChO competition. The participants had to finish the chemistry`s theoretical exam and practical exam within five hours per student.

The embassy reported the questions of the exams were very complicated and unique, so that needed scientific imagination based on advance level of the chemical knowledge.

Meanwhile, on the experiment task, the participants must be able to manage the time effectively as well as to use their skills and composure.(*)
