Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State oil and gas company PT Pertamina has predicted that subsidized gasoline consumption will increase by up to 30 percent when the exodus of Idul Fitri homeward-bound travelers reaches its peak on Saturday (August 3).

Pertamina is ready to secure fuel oil and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supplies during the Muslim holiday of Lebaran, Pertamina President Director Karen Agustiawan said in a press statement released on Sunday.

The subsidized gasoline consumption will reach its peak five days before the post-fasting month festivities, he said.

"We predict subsidized gasoline consumption at that time will reach 107,277 kiloliters, up by 33 percent from average normal consumption of 80,926 kiloliters per day," she said.

However, subsidized diesel oil consumption is expected to fall by up to 4.9 percent from 40,626 kiloliters to 38,628 kiloliters.

Pertamina will always try to keep gasoline and LPG stocks at a safe level during the Lebaran festivities, with gasoline stocks enough for 17.45 days, diesel oil for 21.27 days, avtur for 27.63 days, non-subsidized pertamax gasoline for 40.89 days, pertamax plus for 37.62 days, and LPG for 14.6 days.
