"Prime Minister Hazem al-Beblawi made a proposal to Social Affairs Minister to see the legal frame for dissolving the Muslim Brotherhood," Spokesman Sherif Shawki said during a televised conference, noting that the issue is currently being studied by the government.
The statement comes after overnight clashes between supporters of ousted president Mohamed Morsi, mostly from the MB, and security forces along with opposing citizens, left at least 173 killed and 1,330 injured across the country.
The government has recently been referring to the MB members as "terrorists", as state TV footage and eyewitnesses confirmed pro- Morsi protesters` possession of weapons during their rallies. (*)
