The Pancasila is simply a slogan."Malang, East Java (ANTARA News) - Rhoma Irama, king of dangdut music, will be a presidential candidate, representing National Awakening Party (PKB) before the 2014 legislative election.
"I will be the presidential candidate of my party. However, my party and I have pledged not to declare my presidential candidacy openly," said Rhoma Irama on Wednesday.
Rhoma claims some ulemas and habibs are keen to see him in the country`s top position.
According to him, these ulemas and habibs believe the nation is bearing the brunt of its citizens` poor integrity, as reflected by the tension between various groups in Indonesia.
"The Pancasila is simply a slogan," he said.
However, he admitted that there might be splits within the party before the declaration of the presidential candidate.
He added that similar problems have arisen in other political parties such as the Golkar Party.
"Splits occur in a party during presidential candidacy when it has not declared its presidential candidate officially," explained Rhoma.
He praised the electability of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle`s cadre Joko Widodo, and mentioned that Widodo has the best personality in the country.
"We have to agree that Joko Widodo is phenomenal," he said.
