Entertainment presented by various artists, usually seen on TV, were now visible right before their eyes, as the artists were performing at APM's booths. At Mazda's booth, visitors were entertained by Ello, Alexa, Patra Sihombing, and Super Seven. Honda brought their Brio ambassador, JKT 48, to enliven the stage.
Heating up the nuance, Syaharani sang for the visitors of Dodge while Suzuki's stage was cheered up with the performances by Tangga Band. Those at Daihatsu booth had the privilege to enjoy live performances from Ran, The Dance Company, Rio Febrian, and Fatin Sidqia Lubis. The latter is the country's new teen idol and the winner of Indonesian X Factor season one.
Nela, a 16-year old teen who came to the exhibition with his parents and siblings, could not hide her excitement of being able to watch her idol singing before her eyes. "I am only here because my parents wanted to check out the cars. But when I found out that Fatin was performing at Daihatsu booth, I chose to stay here with young brother while my parents looked around the exhibition area. I feel very lucky to have come here today," said Nela, still full with excitement.
Abiyoso Wietono, Automotive Division Manager, Dyandra Promosindo, admitted that during the weekend the exhibition area is full with various entertainment programs. This is not surprising because many visitors come to the exhibition with their families in the weekend. "We hope through this event, the public will be able to see the development of the country's automotive industry as well as enjoying the entertainment offered. In addition, we also hope that various facilities, such as Kids Corner, Nursery Room, and free strollers - which we provide for the comfort of those who come with their family - can be useful," said Abiyoso. He added that during the weekend, the free stroller is one of the facilities that visitors most wanted. Since the opening of the exhibition until the closing time, more than 20 strollers were used by visitors.
Rush Swift Stunt Show
Entertainment from various artists is not the only program that is much anticipated by visitors each year. Another program that demonstrates daredevil stunts, boldness and is able to pump visitors' adrenaline is the Rush Swift Stunt Show. The program is brought to visitors by IIMS 2013 in collaboration with Subaru and GT Radial. The program started Friday, September 20, and the final show was on Sunday, September 22. Taken place near Gambir Expo, Rush Swift Stunt Show is divided in three sessions - which are at 1 PM, 5 PM, and 7 PM. Russ Swift, the world's famous stunt driver from England and who holds the Guinness World Record, will again perform and entertain IIMS visitors with gravity-defying actions such as Reverse Spinning, Handbrake Parking, Drifting and Doughnuts.
During the program, Russ Swift received huge applause from the audience. The seat was packed with those who had ticket from Subaru's booth. Visitors who did not have tickets were willing to stand in the heat just to watch the daredevil actions. After completing his stunts, Russ interacted with the audience and invited them to join him in his car while doing the stunt. He invited up to four passengers to ride with him for the show. One of the passengers even took the opportunity to take pictures while the car was in action.
The last stunt performed by Russ Swift was circling drift, or known as Doughnuts, with a total of 10 laps. At first, he 'tricked' one of the audiences to ride with him in his Subaru Impreza. He said the final stunt was merely a circle in the park, or track in this case. He did ride the car slowly and only going in a circle track, at first. But then, the real action began. He pushed down the pedal gradually and kept on accelerating while going in circle until he completed the 10 laps.
Wulan, one of the lucky visitors who rode with Russ Swift in his car, came out with pale and anxious expression. "I am speechless.... It was an adrenaline rush experience for real," said Wulan with trembling voice. Jacky, another lucky visitor who rose in the stunt car, shared the same view. "His speed when shifting the gear was very swift and precise, and had me jaw-dropping," said Jacky. Yadi, who also had the chance to ride with Russ, said, "Wow, if I can perform his stunts, I will never have problem when parking," he said with laughter.
