Nusa Dua, Bali (ANTARA News) - Deputy chairman of the national committee of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2013 summit Chairul Tanjung said here on Wednesday that facilities for the APEC gathering are 100 percent ready.

According to him, the organizing committee has checked the preparations for the summit ranging from the welcoming ceremony for state officials at Ngurah Rai International Airport to the arrangements at the conference venue where heads of state will stay.

As many as 21 leaders of APEC are expected to assemble here on Oct. 7 and 8, 2013.

"We have conducted an evaluation meeting in preparation for the APEC summit. Based on our inspection, all facilities including the conference venues are ready, as expected," Tanjung noted after inspecting the Media Centre at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre (BMDCC), the venue of the summit.

The national committee for the APEC Summit has confirmed US President Barack Obama`s attendance at the meeting.

"As of today, Wednesday (Oct. 2), his participation in the meeting has been confirmed," stated Tanjung.

Tanjung, however, said the committee would be monitoring the schedule for the US President`s arrival.
