Nunukan, North Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - The Government of Malaysia has again deported 131 problematic Indonesian migrant workers through Tunon Taka international port in Nunukan District, North Kalimantan, according to port official.

Tunon Taka port spokesman Nasution stated here on Friday that the 131 Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysian state of Sabah were deported on Thursday.

He explained that they were deported by Malaysian authority because they did not have legal document to work in Sabah.

"Most of them did not have legal passports and therefore had to be deported," Nasution pointed out, adding that the deported Indonesian problematic workers arrived on Thursday evening by MV Francis Express at Nunukan from Tawau port in Malaysia.

He stated that there were, in all, 108 men, 18 women and five girls.

Further, Nasution added that before they were deported, they had been confined at Air Panas temporary detention center in Tawau for several years.

"Most of them were deported because they did not have legal documents, not because of any other crime such as drug or robbery," Nasution sai assured.

He added that after they arrived at Tunon Taka port terminal in Nunukan, they were examined by Indonesian Problematic Management Task Force.
