Nunukan, North Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - Floods have swept away eight houses from three villages in Lumbis Sub-district, Nunukan District, North Kalimantan Province, over the past two days.

Incessant heavy rains that have plagued the area since Wednesday triggered floods, noted Daud, a local resident of Lumbis, here on Friday.

The downpour also led to the overflow of Sembakung River, the source of which is in Malaysia.

Of the eight houses washed away, four were located in Sukamaju Village, three in Patal, and one in Binter. Tens of houses were flooded in these three villages.

There were no reports of casualties resulting from the disaster.
